A Harrisburg Police Officer spotted smoke Friday evening and helped bring crews to a 2-alarm fire in the city.

Officials say the officer was patrolling and saw significant smoke near the 1900 block of North Second Street.

After investigating, he called firefighters who within 30 minutes of arrival, were able to bring the 2-alarm blaze under control.

Officials say the fire started on a stove in the second-floor apartment and has been ruled accidental.
