HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania State Police seized over $118 million in heroin, cocaine, and other illegal drugs in 2015.
According to State Police Commissioner Tyree C. Blocker, that is an increase from the amount seized in 2014.
The department announced Wednesday that just in the final three months of the year, troopers seized more than 11 kilos of heroin, over 1,000 pounds of marijuana and more than 20 kilos of cocaine. The combined street value is estimated at over $17.8 million.
“These seizures confirm our obligation to the citizens of Pennsylvania by defeating these illegal criminal enterprises that have a devastating impact on the quality of life in our neighborhoods,” Blocker said in a statement.
