Mushroom Farmers of PA advocates for and promotes the proud history of cultivating mushrooms in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The tiny town of Kennett Square in Chester County, PA is the Mushroom Capital of the World! These farms are multi-generational, family-owned and operated and produce more than 62 percent of the total U.S. volume of mushroom sales. PA mushroom farmers produce more than 547 million pounds of white, brown and specialty varieties with an annual value of more than $500 million. They’ll offer a special “Mush Room” exhibit at the 100th PA Farm Show to showcase the proud history, growing techniques and delightful varieties of mushrooms grown in PA.
Mushroom Farmers of PA is sponsoring a booth at the Food Court at the 100th PA Farm Show which runs from Jan. 8-16, 2016, as well as the “Mush Room,” an exhibit all about the history of mushroom growing in PA. This can be found near the butter sculpture at the Farm Show Complex.
