Code Orange air quality action issued for Midstate

The Department of Environmental Protection has issued a “Code Orange” for Thursday for the Midstate due to a combination of wind and moisture levels.

The “Code Orange” could impact young children, the elderly and people with respiratory problems who might be especially vulnerable to the effects of air pollution.

The DEP is asking people to limit the use of wood stoves, to set thermostats to lower temperatures and to limit outdoor activity Thursday while the Code Orange is in effect.
