It is not uncommon for a son to follow in a father’s footsteps but to have a father and son combination sitting as judges simultaneously in Dauphin County, this is a first.
Paul Zozos was elected last year and will now serve from behind the bench in the district overseeing south Harrisburg, Hall Manor and portions of Allison Hill. It is known as 1202.
His father, George Zozos, has served one district over for 35 years, as judge in Harrisburg’s Magisterial District court.
George says he hopes to have another year or two behind the bench, but is happy to have his son beside him.
” I’m hoping that I can be an assistance to my son, because it’s a difficult job, at the beginning,” says George.
