YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – William Seitz’s family is looking for answers about how he died. His sister Darlene got a phone call Sunday night.
“My niece said your brother Bill was just murdered and I screamed and I hollered,” Darlene Warner said.
The family originally thought Bill had been beaten up and his throat had been slit. Two days later, the family says they were told a different story.
“Right now, the coroner is saying it was blunt force trauma because he was hit by a car,” said Shirley Rouscher, Bill’s sister
Surveillance video shows the 67-year-old Seitz leaving the 13th Ward Club off Parkway Boulevard Sunday around 5:10 p.m. His family believes he was walking to his home on Duke Street. Seitz’s body was found 40 minutes later in the middle of the 600 block of North Pershing Avenue, about one block away.
“It is not that far, so what happened in that 40 minutes? There has got to be something. I just do not understand it,” Rouscher said.
“We still can’t understand what happened. Why? I hope someone out there knows,” Warner said.
The family says losing Bill was hard enough but not knowing what happened to him makes it even harder, especially if someone hit him with their car and kept going.
“Why couldn’t that car have stopped? Why would they just let him lay there? He is somebody’s brother, father. It just was not right that they left him here. They should have done more. If anybody at all knows anything please let York city police know so we can get closure,” Rouscher said.
