WASHINGTON (WHTM) – A Minnesota meat company is recalling nearly 90,000 pounds of frozen hamburger patties sold to retail stores nationwide because they may be contaminated with extraneous wood materials.
Huisken Meat Company is recalling Sam’s Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion patties that were sold in two-pound boxes of six patties with “use by” dates of 05/17/2016, 05/29/2016, and 06/06/2016, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The USDA said the wood materials originated with an incoming ingredient and were discovered during production. There have been no confirmed reports of anyone becoming sick after eating the burger patties.
The patties should be thrown away or returned to the store where they were purchased.
