UPDATE: Body found in street following nearby anti-violence rally in York

YORK, Pa — (WHTM) The York County Coroner is responding to a body found in the street in York not long after residents held an anti-violence rally.

Authorities have told ABC27 a man’s body was found with apparent fatal wounds. Police were unable to confirm how the man may have died, an identity, or other details pertaining to the homicide. Fire crews had to wash the road before it was opened around 9 p.m.

York Police are expected to provide more information either later tonight or early Monday morning.


PREVIOUS:

A woman found a dead body on Parkway Blvd. near N. Perishing Ave. in York City just before 6 p.m. according to YDR.com. The York County Coroner told ABC27 they have been called to the 300 block to investigate.

Just after 3 p.m., John Beck organized an anti-violence rally in the city following a spat of shootings in recent days.

“We are just trying to raise awareness that we’re tired of being attacked and people being attacked,” Beck said. “And, it needs to stop.”
