Swatara police catch robber in the act

Jonathan Michael Bakaric

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say they arrested a Harrisburg man just as he was leaving the gas station he had broken into.

Jonathan Michael Bakaric, 32, was wearing a mask and gloves when police watched him climbing out the front door of the Sun Up Exxon early Tuesday in Swatara Township.

Bakaric was also carrying a knife and tobacco products, police say.

Officers were alerted of the incident when Bakaric set off a motion alarm inside the store.

Bakaric told officers he burglarized the store because he needed money to support his drug problem.

He is being held at Dauphin County Prison on burglary and possessing instruments of crime charges.
