Middletown police sergeant charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – A borough police officer is facing disorderly conduct and public drunkenness charges after an incident in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Sgt. James Bennett had attended a party on Pine Street when he became disorderly on the sidewalk outside of the party, according to a news release from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office.

He was off duty at the time of the incident.

The case was referred to the DA’s office for investigation.
