Churchgoers told to expect delays in Lancaster County

It could be tough to get around one part of Lancaster County Thursday night.

The Landis Valley Road Bridge over Route 222 in Manheim Township is closed.

A detour is in place near several churches, that are all having Christmas Eve services at the same time.

Church leaders are telling people to allow extra travel time.

“We put on our website that people should leave early and be courteous and perhaps to expect a delay,” Pastor Michael Rogers of Westminster Presbyterian Church said.  “We’ll live with it.”

PennDOT suggest drivers use Oregon Pike along with Eden and Butter Roads as alternatives.
