Police investigate attempted child luring in Lebanon County

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) – State police are investigating a reported child luring incident in Swatara Township, Lebanon County.

According to a news release, while a 12-year-old was alone at her bus stop, a man drove up to the girl and mouthed the words “come here.”

It happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday near the shoulder of Rt. 72 near Mountville Drive.

Police say the girl screamed and ran away when the man opened his door and invited her in.

The girl described the suspect as a man in his early 50s of Middle Eastern or Indian descent with dark hair, a receding hairline and a dark goatee.

He was reportedly driving a mid to late 90s blue Volkswagen Jetta with a rear spoiler and missing black door trim on the middle of the driver’s door.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Jonestown at 717-865-2194.
