HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – An Enola man awaiting trial for sexually assaulting a teenage girl will spend 15 years in a federal prison for producing child pornography.
Michael Kman, 51, was sentenced Tuesday to 180 months by U.S. District Court Judge Sylvia Rambo. He was further ordered to 15 years supervised release and to register as a sex offender when he’s released.
U.S. Attorney Peter Smith said Kman persuaded and coerced a 17-year-old girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of making child pornography.
East Pennsboro Township police arrested Kman in May 2014 for sexually assaulting the girl. He is awaiting trial in Cumberland County Court on charges including rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, and unlawful contact with a minor, according to records.
He has been jailed in the Cumberland County Prison on $1 million bail since his arrest.
Kman was in trouble with the law five years ago when authorities said he attempted to rig youth basketball games. He was a coach for the Catholic Youth Organization in 2010 when state police said he offered referees bribes of up to $2,500.
In that case, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of harassment.
