10th annual Cops for KOPS game to honor 6 fallen officers

The 10th annual Cops for KOPS ice hockey game will be played this Saturday at Giant Center in Hershey.  The puck drops at 1 p.m.

The annual event, which raises money for children of fallen Pa. police officers, has grown by leaps and bounds since it was started a decade ago by Derry Township Chief Pat O’Rourke, after he played the bagpipes at a state trooper’s funeral.  KOPS stands for “Keep Our Pipers Silent.”

This year, law enforcement officers will skate to honor six men who died in the line of duty.

Watch the video to learn more about those men and about the new honor O’Rourke plans to bestow upon a deserving law enforcement officer this year.
