Thief stole donation jar for kids in need

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are looking for the thief who stole money that was supposed to go to children in need.

The thief took off with a donation jar at the Walnut Bottom Diner in South Middleton Township, according to state police in Carlisle. The donation jar was being used to collect money for the annual Toys for Tots campaign.

The jar was taken from the restaurant at 936 Walnut Bottom Road early Saturday morning. A police news release did not disclose how much money was in it.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police barracks at 717-249-2121.
