Heroin dealer convicted of having $25K supply in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A Philadelphia man has been convicted of having $25,000 worth of heroin in his car when police stopped him last year.

Waldemar Mercado-Cruz, 35, was found guilty of felony drug dealing after a non-jury trial before Lancaster County Court Judge James Cullen, according to the district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors said Mercado-Cruz had 98 grams of heroin, which would have yielded about 300 bundles when broken down for sale.

He will be sentenced after a background check is completed in about three months.
