LEOLA, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say a tow truck operator who took off with a minivan in Lancaster County didn’t steal it, but accidentally hooked up the wrong car.
East Hempfield Township police were looking for the tow truck and its driver after the owner of the minivan reported it stolen. Police said the van was taken while the owner was inside the Leola Post Office for just 10 or 15 minutes.
Police recovered the van Tuesday afternoon, and they now say the van wasn’t stolen. They said the tow company inadvertently towed the wrong vehicle.
