HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – The lawyer for a Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice says his client doesn’t plan to resign despite the governor’s call for him to quit over a salacious email scandal.

The attorney for Justice Michael Eakin said Sunday he was disappointed by the statement from Gov. Tom Wolf.

The state’s Judicial Conduct Board is investigating Eakin and could bring charges before the Court of Judicial Discipline. Eakin attorney Bill Costopoulos says he wants the allegations to be aired in a public forum.

Wolf says Eakin is complicit in sharing racist, sexist and otherwise derogatory content, and that he tried to add a member to the court that may soon review Eakin’s role in the email ring.

Eakin has apologized but insists the emails don’t reflect his character and haven’t affected court business.
