US Little League champs donate $18K to Four Diamonds

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) – The Red Land Little League World Series U.S. Championship team visited sick children Monday at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

The team donated $18,200 to the Four Diamonds Foundation to help pediatric cancer patients.

“This platform we’ve been placed on, we need to use this for good,” pitcher and first baseman Cole Wagner said. “Childhood cancer specifically speaks to us because we’re kids and there’s kids just like us who have something that they have to battle through every day.”

The visit including a meet-and-greet and autographs signings.

The team has raised more than $24,400 in donations to combat cancer since summer. Nearly $6,300 more went to the national Vs. Cancer Foundation for research.
