The Nutcracker is perhaps the most anticipated ballet of the year and the Pennsylvania Regional Ballet is set to perform this holiday classic at the Scottish Rite Theater in Harrisburg.
“The Nutcracker is one of the most recognizable ballets in the world. The music is played throughout the holidays in commercials, shopping malls, business offices and on the radio. Even if you are not a ballet patron, chances are you have attended a performance of the ballet at one time or another in your life. Many people have fond memories of attending performances of The Nutcracker with family and friends as an annual tradition of ushering in the holidays,” explains Laszlo Berdo, Ballet Master & Choreographer.
Bella Kaschock, a performer in the ballet, will be playing the role of Clara and we had the chance to talk with her about her role in the event.
“Actually, until last year, I always wanted to play the role of Fritz, Clara’s brother. And in this past Nutcracker, that was the role that I got! I had a lot of fun dancing with Kamryn Haubert, who played Clara, and working with her I saw how much fun the role of Clara might be. It is also an honor and a lot of responsibility, but mainly fun!” says Kaschock.
The event will take place Saturday, December 5th at 2:00 & 7:00 PM; and Sunday, December 6th at 2:00 PM at the Scottish Rite Theater, 2701 N. Third Street, Harrisburg, PA.
