CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – A South Middleton Township man has been charged in the death of his infant son.
John T. Howard-Bee, 22, was charged Monday with criminal homicide, first-degree murder, and third-degree murder, according to state police in Carlisle. Bail at Cumberland County Prison was denied.
Howard Bee was arrested Nov. 11, a day after the 6-week-old boy was treated at Carlisle Regional Medical Center and then transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center on Nov. 10. The baby died at the hospital Nov. 12.
Cumberland County District Attorney Dave Freed announced last week that Howard-Bee would be charged with homicide. He said Howard-Bee admitted to shaking and hitting his son when he wouldn’t stop crying.
Freed said the child suffered severe brain trauma, a fractured skull, and other injuries. He said there was evidence of prior abuse and the baby was malnourished and underweight.
