Lancaster man pleads guilty to fatal stabbing

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man has admitted in court that he fatally stabbed another man last year.

Ernie Rivera-Gonzalez, 29, pleaded guilty Monday to third-degree murder, according to the Lancaster County district attorney’s office.

He will serve 14 to 35 years in state prison as part of a plea agreement.

Rivera-Gonzalez admitted he stabbed 31-year-old Alex Vazquez-Dones in the first block of Stevens Avenue on Oct. 5, 2014. Vazquez-Dones died at Lancaster General Hospital of a single stab wound to the chest.

Rivera-Gonzalez was arrested in Connecticut 11 days later.
