Truck hits home, narrowly misses 10 puppies

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster Township family and their 10 puppies escaped injury Thursday when a pickup truck crashed into their home.

Authorities said the pickup driver swerved to avoid a car stopped at an intersection and struck Karen Kitchen’s home on Wabank Road.

“I was shocked. It was, ‘oh my gosh, they hit our house’ and then it was ‘oh, where are my puppies?’ ” Kitchen said. “We have 10 puppies. They were in their little corral thing, sleeping thankfully, and they’re fine.”

The home has been condemned. The family is staying with relatives.
