Soccer club treasurer arrested for $20K theft

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. (WHTM) – A former treasurer of a youth soccer club has been arrested for the theft of more than $20,000, police said.

Katrina L Rynier, 26, of East Earl, was the volunteer treasurer for the Garden Spot Youth Soccer Club when she made 388 unauthorized purchases on the club’s credit card between August 2014 and September 2015, according to New Holland police.

Authorities said the unauthorized purchases total $20,980.19. Club officials discovered the purchases during a transition to a new treasurer.

Rynier admitted to investigators that she made the unauthorized purchases, police said. She was charged Wednesday with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and access device fraud.

She was later released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
