HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Parishoners of Saint Catherine Laboure Catholic Church gathered in prayer Monday night for all those affected in the recent terror attacks in Paris.
The church on Derry Street has a unique connection with the city of light. It was the first in the world to be named after Saint Catherine Laboure.
St. Catherine Laboure belonged to the community of the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris, Francis, which is just a few miles away from where the attacks took place.
Before Monday night’s service, people took time out to write words of comfort on a scroll that will be sent to Paris.
“The world is filled with so much violence and just to show that we support them and are united in prayer with them,” said parishoner Francis Robinson.
