3 shot in Harrisburg expected to recover, police say

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Three young men who were wounded in two separate shooting incidents on Monday are expected to recover, city police said.

A 17- and a 19-year-old were shot in the 1200 block of South 13th Street at around 4:30 p.m. Less than four hours later, a 16-year-old was shot before he crashed an SUV in the 1800 block of Holly Street.

No suspects have been named in either case.

Police said both victims in the 13th Street shooting were struck by bullets that were fired into a vehicle. Both were listed in critical condition Monday night.

Investigators are looking for the owner of a burgundy minivan that took the victims to Harrisburg Hospital. The van has been found.

Police investigating the Holly Street incident believe the shots were fired from a green vehicle. The teen tried to flee, but crashed into a porch and collapsed to the ground.

He is recovering at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, police said.
