Man arrested for armed robbery at Ephrata store

James Gehman (Ephrata Police Department)

EPHRATA, Pa. (WHTM) – A Reinholds man has been arrested for the robbery of a Turkey Hill convenience store after evading capture for over a month, police said.

James K. Gehman, 41, is accused of robbing the store at 3585 Rothsville Road in Ephrata Township. Police said he was armed with a handgun when he demanded money on September 30.

His arrest came Thursday after a family member unknowingly led police to him at a home in East Cocalico Township, police said in a news release. Ephrata and East Cocalico officers staked out the rural home for several hours, confirmed Gehman was there and took him into custody without incident.

Gehman had shaved his head in an attempt to change his appearance, police said.
