MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Upper Allen Township police said they’re looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman in her home Wednesday night.
The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Lancaster Boulevard at around 8:30 p.m.
The attacker, who claimed he was armed, was last seen running in the area of Geneva Drive and Nanroc Drive.
“He indicated that he possessed a weapon,” police Lt. M.S. McLaughlin said. The victim did not see it but did feel it.
Police said the woman did not know her attacker. She described him as a tall, thin black man in his 20s, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
The description is similar to those given in attempted burglaries during the last three months, including one in the 1000 block of Lancaster Boulevard on October 27, but police don’t know if it’s the same man.
“The description provided by last night’s victim and the information we have previously from the investigations is consistent,” McLaughlin said. “We can’t make that conclusion as of yet.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Upper Allen police at 717-238-9676.
Authorities also encouraged residents to immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
“The best advice is be aware of your surroundings,” McLaughlin said. “Lock your doors. If you see something that’s not normal, call the police.”
