(WHTM) – A Lancaster man convicted of sexually abusing a child back in 2012, will continue to serve decades in prison.
The state Superior Court denied 37-year-old Gary Wayne Uryc’s appeal this week concluding that he did not have a valid argument.
Uryc appealed the case despite not having a lawyer.
He claimed he should not have been convicted of sexually abusing a girl for over three years beginning when she was 10.
According to the Lancaster County district attorney’s office, Uryc wanted police statements dismissed from trial. Those statements included Uryc telling investigators that the girl was not lying about what happened.
Uryc’s 32 to 64 year state prison sentence ordered by Judge Dennis Reinaker has been upheld.
Uryc is additionally facing charges for trying to bribe the victim not to go through with the case.
