Segudo Cherrez (Harrisburg City Police)

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The victim of a possible hit-and-run last week has died, police said Friday.

Segundo Cherrez, 50, had been unconscious since a passerby found him in 1700 block of Paxton Street in the early morning of October 25. He died at a hospital Wednesday.

An autopsy revealed Cherrez suffered from multiple traumatic injuries that are consistent with being struck and run over by a vehicle, police said in a news release.

Possible Witness IIInvestigators on Friday released a photograph of a potential witness and the van he was driving.

They said they would like to speak to the man because they believe he could be helpful in determining what happened.

Cherrez was not carrying identification when the passerby found him on the roadway. He had sustained several injuries and cuts to his head.

Authorities were able to identify him after several days. They said his family in California has been notified.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 717-255-7311.
