Elderly woman scammed at Harrisburg shopping center

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A woman had only criminal intentions when she asked for help in finding the owner of a lost wallet, police said.

Police said the unknown woman was looking to scam someone, and she ultimately stole a large amount of money from another woman in the Kline Village parking lot last month.

The 90-year-old victim told officers she was approached in the Giant parking area by a woman who told her she just found a wallet. The stranger asked for help, and then a well-dressed man joined the conversation. Police said he was involved in the scam.

Investigators don’t know if the scam artists are from the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 717-255-3158.
