WAYNESBORO, Pa. (WHTM) – A woman was airlifted to the hospital after suffering burn injuries in a fire that was intentionally ignited by her husband, police say.
According to a news release, 43-year-old Gerald McGhee was arguing inside the pair’s home when it happened. McGhee allegedly poured gasoline on the floor and set the home ablaze.
McGhee was arrested and arraigned by Magisterla District Judge Kelly Rock. He has been charged with aggravated assault arson, risking a catastrophe, simple assault, and recklessly endanger another person.
His bail was denied.
McGhee’s wife is being treated at a trauma burn center. It’s unclear how serious her injuries are.
