Harrisburg school to remain closed for plumbing issues

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A plumbing problem will close keep the Camp Curtin Academy closed for the rest of the week.

District spokeswoman Kirsten Keys said the elementary school will reopen Monday. No classes were scheduled Friday.

Capital Area Head Start will reopen Friday.

Keys said the extended closure was due to a plumbing issue and difficulty in finding the source and location of a sewer line blockage. The repair was completed Thursday.

The EXPLORE after-school program also was canceled for the rest of the week.

The problem closed Camp Curtin on Wednesday. Administrators had planned to reopen this morning.

It’s the third time the plumbing issue has closed the school in the last four weeks.
