Spring Grove man arrested for home burglaries

SPRING GROVE, Pa. (WHTM) – A York County man has been arrested for burglaries of three homes and the attempted burglary of a fourth.

Jake T. Hengst, 19, of Spring Grove, was arrested Saturday after police said he tried to enter a home on North High Street but was scared away.

Southwestern Regional police said their investigation revealed Hengst committed two other burglaries in the borough within the last week, one on West Hoke Street and the other on North Main Street, and another on Federal Drive in North Codorus Township.

In each incident, police said he pried open windows and stole property. Some of the stolen items have been recovered.

Hengst was charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of receiving stolen property, and one count of criminal trespass.
