CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) – Police in Hampden Township say they have identified the driver who struck a pedestrian last weekend in the 3400 block of Simpson Ferry Road.
According to a news release, an unrelated incident led officers to Cathleen Schmidt-Ruchinsky of Mechanicsburg.
Police say Schmidt-Ruchinsky struck a person inside a shopping plaza parking lot and then fled the scene. It happened just after 7 p.m. on October 24.
The victim was found conscious and alert, but police say the person had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
A witness told police Schmidt-Ruchinsky’s vehicle was a white Nissan sedan.
Police found Schmidt-Ruchinsky’s vehicle parked at her residence. Markings on the hood of her car indicated that someone had traveled across it.
Schmidt-Ruchinsky has been charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, duty to give information and render aid and reckless driving.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for this week.
