MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Many Midstate communities are having trick-or-treating Thursday evening, and police want to make sure your kids get their treats while being safe.
West Shore Regional police say only to cross the street at corners. Kids and parents should never cross between parked cars or in the middle of the street.
Walk on a well-lit street, and stay on the sidewalk.
Wait until you get home to sort, check, and eat treats.
Use reflective tape so drivers can see you.
Police say parents should look at all their kids candy before allowing them to eat it and should throw away any candy that’s not sealed.
ABC 27 will talk to a PennDOT spokesperson and have tips for drivers during trick-or-treating tonight at 5 p.m.
