Lancaster County inmate faces new charges in drug overdose death

COLUMBIA, Pa. (WHTM) – A man who’s already behind bars is facing new criminal charges in connection to a heroin overdose death.

Victor Nelson Virola has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

According to police, Virola played a role in the death of 21-year-old Kody McKain who was found dead last month at a Turkey Hill store in Columbia.

An autopsy determined he died of a heroin overdose.

In an interview with police, Virola admitted to having sold heroin to McKain on multiple occasions, including prior to his death.

Virola is being held at Lancaster County Prison on unrelated criminal charges.
