Historic ‘Star Barn’ being readied for move

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – The Star Barn in Lower Swatara Township is being dismantled.

Construction workers took down the cupolas this week at the facility along Route 283 in Dauphin County.

DAS Companies, based in Palmyra, bought the barn and is moving it to the Ironstone Rance in West Donegal Township, Lancaster County.

The barn was built in 1872 and features gothic revival-style architecture.

The move is expected to be completed in the spring.
