Coroner IDs victim of 2nd Harrisburg homicide

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A 35-year-old man was killed in a shooting Wednesday night on Muench Street, the city’s second fatal shooting of the day.

Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick identified the victim as Reginald Carrier.

He said Carrier was shot three times, including one that struck his heart.

The death has been ruled a homicide, but Hetrick pointed out that homicide doesn’t necessarily mean the killing is a crime.

A woman was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, according to police. Her name was not released.

The investigation is ongoing. The coroner said there is evidence of a domestic altercation.

He added that he doesn’t believe Carrier’s death is related to the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Jalil Smith in Hall Manor hours earlier.

Smith was found lying in a yard at 17th and Sumner streets just before 2 a.m. Hetrick said he was shot eight times.

No arrests have been announced in either case.
