Lancaster man crashed while fleeing officer, police say

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man was arrested after police said he crashed into another vehicle while fleeing an officer.

Reginal Morant, 23, also faces charges for having a handgun that had been reported stolen earlier this month, police said in a news release.

An officer tried to stop Morant early Sunday for driving under suspension, but he fled and crashed into the occupied vehicle at the intersection of Rockland and Juniata streets, police said.

He was arrested after a foot chase and was found to be in possession of the stolen .380 semi-automatic handgun, police said.

Morant was charged with fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, receiving stolen property, firearms offenses, and summary traffic violations.
