Swim coach gets prison for child sexual abuse, pornography

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A former swimming and diving coach at two Lancaster County high schools will spend up to seven years in state prison for inappropriately touching a girl and possessing child pornography.

Patrick E. Fatta was ordered to serve two years, nine months to seven years followed by five years of probation, according to the Lancaster County district attorney’s office. He must register as a sexual offender under Megan’s Law for the rest of his life.

He was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to child pornography and indecent assault of a child.

Fatta, 43, coached at Hempfield and Manheim Township high schools and a youth program at West Chester University. He was removed from his position after police searched his West Hempfield Township home in November and found images and videos of child pornography on his computer.

In March, police discovered Fatta had sexual contact with a girl between 2009 and 2013.
