Police need help to ID jewelry thief who hit 3 antique shops

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Authorities are asking for help to identify a man who stole thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry from three antique stores in Lancaster County.

The Lancaster County district attorney’s office released surveillance photographs of the suspect on Friday.

Authorities said he targeted three stores Oct. 8; Burning Bridge Antiques in Columbia, Adams Antiques, and Route 272 Antiques and Collectibles, both along Route 272 in East Cocalico Township.AntiquePost

He’s suspected in the theft of about $11,000 worth of jewelry from the Columbia store and more than $5,000 in merchandise from the East Cocalico Township businesses. Authorities said the amounts could increase as owners determine what they lost.

Police believe he acted alone when he defeated locks on cases and displays and then pocketed rings, necklaces and bracelets. They also believe he’s done this before, and he may be the same man who stole from an antique store in Harrisonburg, Virginia on Monday.

It’s believed he’s driving a gray sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala or something similar.

Anyone who recognizes him, or who is the victim of similar theft, should call East Cocalico police Detective Keith Neff at 717-336-1725.
