HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Road construction crews are scheduled to begin grinding old blacktop and paving Front Street with new asphalt Tuesday night.
The work is scheduled between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. this week and next week and will limit Front Street to a single lane, according to a PennDOT news release.
Flaggers will direct drivers through the work area.
The work is part of a project to resurface two miles of Front Street from Division to Paxton.
Front Street between Division and Herr will be converted from three travel lanes to two, with four feet of shoulder on the left and six feet of shoulder on the right.
The right shoulder area will be designated a bike lane toward the end of the project next spring.
The $4.2 million project includes repairing and resurfacing Paxton Street from Vine to near Cameron and a portion of South 2nd Street from Paxton to the railroad underpass.
All work is scheduled to be completed by June.
