LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a stabbing Friday night in 500 block of Howard Avenue.
Police say a 45-year-old woman, with at least 15 stab wounds, was found at the scene.
She was transported to a local hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for stab wounds to her head, ear, neck, forearms, chest, and shoulders, police say.
Police say the suspect was also on scene. His arms were covered in blood and lacerations were seen on his right hand. He was identified as 34-year-old Israel Polanco-Cano.
Cano has been charged with criminal attempt to commit homicide.
According to police, the victim was visiting a friend when Cano showed up at the friend’s apartment and attacked her.
Police believe both the victim and Cano are known to each other.
