Police increase presence after bus stop incident

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Linglestown Middle School student was chased by a man this morning while she was walking to her bus stop.

The incident happened near Ryan Drive and Lancaster Avenue.

According to police, the girl safely ran to a neighbor’s house, but no one was home. She continued to run to the bus stop and the man proceed to chase her but stopped when he saw her in a group of children.

Police have identified the man, who is homeless, but he is not in custody. Police will remain in the neighborhood until the man is arrested.

The man is described as being about 40 years old, tall, thin build with a goatee. The man was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark jean shorts, and white shoes with black socks that had a polka dot pattern. The man did not speak during the incident.

The name of the girl is not being released.
