HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A former office manager at a Carlisle health and rehabilitation center was arrested after federal prosecutors said she stole money from residents.
A grand jury indictment alleges Kristy S. Jewett stole more than $5,000 for her own use.
Jewett, 35, of Carlisle, was an office manager at Forest Park Health Center and Rehabilitation from 2008 to 2014 and was responsible for resident trust funds. The trust funds held money deposited by residents to be used for their care and other expenses.
Authorities say Jewett also falsified monthly records to conceal the theft from Forest Park managers.
She was arraigned Friday before a U.S. district judge on charges of theft of public funds. She was then released on her own recognizance.
