Northern York teacher headed to trial in child pornography case

Brandon Deck (Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General)

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A teacher in the Northern York County School District is headed to trial on child pornography charges.

Brandon Thomas Deck, 27, waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday and was bound for court on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography.

By waiving the hearing, he concedes there is evidence to support the charges but doesn’t admit guilt.

The state attorney general’s office filed the charges earlier this month after executing a search warrant at Deck’s home in Upper Allen Township, Cumberland County. Investigators said they found several child pornography files on multiple computer devices.

School administrators immediately placed Deck on administrative leave. They said there is no evidence of any misconduct on school grounds or with any students in the district.

A formal arraignment in Cumberland County court is scheduled Dec. 31.
