HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A man accused of twice attacking a mail carrier in Harrisburg’s Allison Hill neighborhood has turned himself into authorities.
Todd Johnson, 24, faces a charge of simple assault in the July 31 attacks.
He was arraigned Tuesday and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 30, according to court documents.
Johnson allegedly threw the mail carrier down a hill in the area of Herr and N. 13th Street, then dragged him down two flights of concrete steps in the area of the 1200 block of Cumberland Street.
Authorities believe the motive for the assault is a package that fell from the mail carrier’s satchel. He found the package opened and the contents missing, and was asking people if they saw anything or knew anything about it when he was attacked.
