YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – City leaders in York have built the seventh playground in seven years. The latest at Memorial Park.
75 volunteers including students from Penn State York and York Catholic High School went to work.
The new playground includes a zip line and a climbing structure. Grants are covering the $70,000 bill.
“I just want everybody to leave here saying ‘I did something really great for my community today,’ and I hope they come back. I hope they come back and watch the kids playing on it and they can really see how much of a benefit it is for the neighborhood an the families that visit memorial park,” Karen Gleba, the chairperson for Bring On Play, said.
Volunteers finished the playground this afternoon, but kids won’t be able to use the equipment for a few day until the concrete hardens.
