LONDON (KRON) — A new study is challenging conventional wisdom about breastfeeding.
Scientists in London said a breastfed child is not more intelligent than those who are bottled fed.
They monitored children in both groups for about 15 years, testing their IQ nine times along the way. And in the end, scientists found no significant difference.
While breastfeeding might not affect how smart a child will be, researchers said it is still beneficial for a child’s growth and development.
In March, another study had found breastfeeding to be associated with an increase in intelligence.
